Relesed in Italy and Portugal a new recording including the whole collection of 24 instrumental dances of the collection Opus Primum by composer
Friar Elzearius Pizzoni (1669) and dedicated to duke of Piacenza & Parma Ranuccio 2 Farnese and his third wife D' Este from Modena.
Musicologist Mario Genesi has just completed reconstruction of the whole set of the instrumental dances for string quartet, basing his intervention on the original thorough bass line by Friar Elzearius, published in Bologna by Antonio Candani.
The complete set has been presented in Lodi, Lombardy just before the Covid-19 Era: instrumentalists L. Tagliazucchi (violin), A. Marras (violin), Yalica Jo Gazan (cello) and M. Genesi (harpsichord), with actor L. S. Paggetti.
The project is issued by the Centro di Studi Musicologici of the Accademia Musicale Gerundia directed by M° Pietro Farina: the CD can be requested to this Academy or directly to Revisor.
It is the first recording in modern times of this collection.
The Cd inclued an 8-page booklet, track-list, and is an opening of the Series "Civiltà Musicale Farnese".
